Rod Wilson

Rod showed his giftedness for composing even at an early age, so that by high school he had his own radio show. After earning his degree in Theory and Composition with a concentration in both piano and orchestration, Rod began his musical career in Los Angeles, where he continued his studies while working and recording with a number of well-known artists and music professionals.

Having a gift with computers also, he subsequently started his own software company and most recently released MIDI Assistant — BackStage for MainStage, designed to give musicians and electronic keyboardists real-time, unified control to automate their concert rigs during live performance. His passions have blended to create software that leverages the talents and visions of other live players, gifted musicians and creators.

After an unexpected open heart surgery in 2014, Rod determined to dedicate more of his time to his passion for composing and recording. With his talent and love for film orchestration, he released an album in 2015, For His Good Pleasure, a collection of ten original compositions he refers to as contemporary program music. Each track generates a picture for the mind around Biblical promises for the soul. He has continued to compose with the release of a number of soundtrack suites and tonal poems designed for the theater of the mind and for soundtrack licensing. A finalist in film competitions in both Europe and the US, he has extensively studied and been influenced by the orchestral styles of Ennio Morricone, Howard Shore, John Williams, Harry Gregson-Williams and Hans Zimmer.
